About Me
During my junior year at Cornell University, I realized that I wanted to learn more about ways that I could serve my community and give back. Not knowing where to start, I turned to my mentor, who unexpectedly challenged me to complete 30 different service projects in 30 days.
I accepted this challenge and from July 1 - July 31, 2019, I impacted more than 1,800 people, engaged 156 people to serve, and served 27 organizations throughout DFW.
I learned so many valuable personal and professional lessons from this experience, but most critically, it showed me the importance of giving back and inspired me to dedicate my life to service. Inspired, I started a nonprofit at the age of 21 to support the holistic development of youth in the areas of service-learning, entrepreneurism, lifelong learning, physical and mental wellness, and professionalism.
Founded shortly before the pandemic, this nonprofit created a website for college kids to access critical COVID resources; started a scholarship for high school seniors impacted by COVID; and hosted service projects that provided youth and young professionals with accessible opportunities to give back to their communities.
Wanting to encourage other youth to serve, in 2021, I wrote a book: Better Together: How 30 Days of Service Changed My Life. The book shares lessons that I learned from my journey, as well as practical tips and resources that help youth lead service in their communities.
To continue this mission, I've recently founded United by Serving, which is dedicated to bringing youth together through the transformative power of service. Through this work, United by Serving leads intergenerational social impact interventions that change communities in DFW and beyond.
